A Spooky Haunted House

Our annual haunted house at the North Burnaby Boys and Girls Club was a great success! We had cookie decorating, trick-or-treat bag making, a movie room and of course, our awesome haunted house. A big thanks goes to the Burnaby Boys and Girls Club staff for letting us make this happen.
This year, we made our haunted house extra scary, with a cemetary scene as the centerpiece and a gruesome crime scene. Many screams were heard as the children walked through the maze as our actors popped out of walls!

Hallowe'en is just around the corner!

And so's our second annual Boys and Girls Club Haunted House! Going from 3:00PM - 5:00PM, this spook-tacular event will feature scary activities like cookie decorating, Trick-or-Treat bag making, carnival games and, of course, the haunted house - a dark maze in the fully converted North Burnaby Boys and Girls Club gymnasium, full of eerie sounds and frightening surprises!

New Meeting Times!

Just a reminder to all, our meeting dates have changed for the 2009 - 2010 year. We will be having our meetings every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. The meeting will start at 6:45pm. The location for our meetings are still to be determined as the Boys and Girls Club is no longer available to us on Tuesday Nights.

Meat Draws Starting Again

September 19 marks the start of our weekly meat draws at the Village Pub! We took a break for the summer, but we'll be going back again every week from 3-5 PM. Win fabulous meat prizes (3 per draw, one draw every 20-30 minutes), while enjoying a nice, cold beer. All funds go to charity! [Link]

Meeting Time Change

Due to lack of availability, we've decided to change all Monday meetings to Thursday. That means that from now on, all club meetings will be held on the second and fourth Thursday of every month.

Yay for Staff Picnic

Thanks to everyone who showed up to our club bonding picnic! For those of you who couldn't make it, here's a little summary:

We started out doing random stuff at the Boys & Girls' Club. There was plenty to do (like painting little sculptures) and playing pool and Foosball; I can't really say much about this time since I arrived late. We watched Baby Momma, with Tina Fey and had some laughs. Billy made an awesome lasagna (extra cheese!) and we had all sorts of other yummy snacks. And finally, our "bonding" experience ended in a big pileup, consisting of Ann, Yannie and Rozlyn (Rosalin!)
